Made of Stone by Spiral Beach is currently my favourite song on the planet (the band is climbing my list fast too). Hopefully I'll be able to see them when they pass through Toronto next - from what I've been told these guys put on an amazing live show.

It's been a long time since I posted something on BAMCAT. Reason being - I'm doing so much cool stuff for my real job at CityNews.ca lately. Here are three examples:
Game Over: Video Arcades Face Extinction - this was a story written by Michael Talbot at CityNews.ca. Although we could not get video to go with the piece his photos tell the story almost better than video could. It also caused a stir at BlogTO (a great Toronto-based blog) and they even wrote a piece of their own on arcades.
Indie Toronto Video Stores - Suzanne Ellis and I put this five-part series together featuring the best independent video stores in Toronto. Sadly, the day after we profiled Suspect Video it burned to the ground (along with many other historical stores on Queen St. W. in Toronto). Queen Video, Marquee Video, Black Dog Video, and The Film Buff (story on Friday) were all included in the series.
Where's Jimmy Hoffa? Former Mob Driver Weighs in on the Mystery - Meeting Marvin Elkind didn't really affect me until he told us where he believes Jimmy Hoffa is buried. He could be the most interesting person I have ever met as well as the scariest.
That's just three out of almost 50 original pieces we have done in the last month. I'll get back to updating BAMCAT with fun links and videos shortly.
This could be the weirdest video I've ever seen on YouTube, and yet, I wish I could actually shave like this (it would make my morning so much easier). Happy 2008!
Thanks to a post on TypePad Hacks I just added some JavaScript code to BAMCAT and Criticize This! that will open all external links in a new window (Google Ads excluded). Seems to be working fine on our end, but would like to know if you encounter any issues or annoyances (and with what browser, etc.).

I caught the Bob Saget comedy special That Ain't Right on TV last night and almost wet myself. How is the loser dad from Full House (and the even bigger loser host of America's Funniest Home Videos) so damn vulgar and funny? When he's not talking about having sex with animals, he's talking about having sex with the kids from Full House!
It's no wonder Jamie Kennedy wrote a rap song for him. Check out the video of Rollin' With Bob Saget below (which even has a cameo by George Lucas of all people).
I get a ton of hits to the post My Mac has a Yak! (where I describe how to call Bruce the Wonder Yak in Final Cut Pro). It's a fun little easter egg to waste your time when you should be editing.
Now I've found something not so fun in Adobe Photoshop called the Adobe Space Monkey. All this is is a new About Photoshop screen but it's neat nonetheless.
Follow the steps below (in Photoshop) to find the monkey and impress your friends.
1. Hold down the CONTROL key
2. Click HELP
3. Select ABOUT PHOTOSHOP
